Duration: February 2004 – February 2004

The objective of the study was the examination of the traffic impacts on the influence area road network by the underground parking station operation in the Allatini complex in Thessaloniki.
The study was carried out in one phase which included the description of position of the parking station and the land uses of the influence area, the existing situation analysis as far as the traffic data are concerned and the estimation of the potential traffic impacts on the road network by the operation of the parking station.
The particularity of the specific station is that it will be operated clearly as a private parking station, in which the entry to visitors will not be allowed, as all places will be disposed exclusively for purchase by the residents and the owners / workers of the complex as well as those of the surrounding area. This implies that the end beneficiaries will have a specific number of places and in a predetermined place in the parking station.

– Town planning and traffic study of the area and land uses record
– Record of the signalization, the roadway status, the geometric characteristics and road network directions, the pedestrian zones etc. in the influence area

– Identification of the parking station entrances – exits and evaluation of the traffic volumes increase in the area due to its operation
– Investigation of the traffic volumes increase effects on the traffic capacity and the service level of the critical nodes in the influence area of the parking stations
