Description

The project aim is the technical support of the Municipality of Rhodes for the ITS deployment project which is undertaken in the city of Rhodes at the framework of cross-border Programme Greece – Cyprus (INTERREG) 2007 – 2013. The Municipality of Rhodes is one of the three partners of project DIAVLOS, while the remaining are the Ministry of Communication & Works of Cyprus and Municipality of St. Nicolaos.
Specifically, the following technical consulting services are provided to the Municipality of Rhodes:
– Support to the Contracting Authority for the preparation of technical specifications during the deployment of a pilot Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) in Rhodes related to the traffic management and travelers’ information sector.
– Formation of an “ex-ante” and “ex-post” methodological approach for the evaluation of results regarding the ITS pilot deployment project conducted in Rhodes.
– Conducting of field surveys and data processing “before” the deployment of pilot ITS project in Rhodes. The surveys relate to traffic counts, speed survey and interviews.
– Conducting of field surveys and data processing “after” the deployment of pilot ITS project in Rhodes. The surveys relate to traffic counts, speed survey and interviews.
– Evaluation of ITS pilot project results in Rhodes by using the “ex-ante” and “ex-post” evaluation study based on surveys findings.
