Description:

The project relates to the technical support of the Public Works Department of Cyprus at the European Programme ITHACA – EASYWAY II. The project aims to represent Cyprus in Programme meetings related to the promotion of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and the preparation of Terms of Reference for the implementation of ITS projects in Cyprus.

The study includes the following activities:

– Training seminar for the latest issues and progresses for ITS in Europe.
– Support for prompt response at ITHACA requirements related to the organization of meetings, the evaluation of other countries positions, the development of positions regarding technical and financial issues promoting the deployment of ITS strategy.
– Promotion – protection of the Ministry’s interests for the benefits maximization occurring (a) from the European Programme Easyway and (b) from future ITS projects for the time period 2011 – 2012.
– Suggestions and participation at the preparation of financial/ technical / managements reports of ITHACA project.
– Suggestion and qualitative assessment of the project EASYWAY deliverables.
– Support or representation of the Ministry at conferences or meetings at (a) the regional project ITHACA Steering Committee, (b) the EASYWAY project, (c) the EASYWAY Annual Forum and (d) the conference of Expert Group or European Studies of the EASYWAY project.
– Preparation of Terms of References for ITS projects which have been included for funding from the European project EASYWAY.
– Technical support for the development of a quantitative and qualitative evaluation methodology of ITS projects which have been included for funding from the European project EASYWAY.
– Suggestions – technical proposals for a conference arrangement in Cyprus (e.g. search for funding sources, speakers and target audience group).
– Report of projects which includes the evaluation of activities for the time period 2010 – 2011, financial forecasts, implementation time plan according to the requirements of the EU.
– Preparation of a study entitled “EC Funding Assessment”
