The system FRETIS-IFT developed by our company and first installed in the Container Terminal of the Port of Thessaloniki, was awarded the second highest distinction (Excellent Performance) in the category “Trade Services / Infrastructure Support Project of Logistics / Transport”. The award on behalf of the company received Mr. Tsoukos, director of research and innovation sector of the company.
FRETIS-IFT is fully operational at the Container Terminal Port of Thessaloniki since 2006, serving on a monthly basis more than 20.000 TEUs while effectively managing an average of 25,000 straddle carrier movements within the stowage space each month. Considering that on a monthly basis the average service time of 9.000 trucks arriving on average at the gates of OLTH to deposit or receive conatiners is only 20 minutes.
The ceremony was attended by more than 350 senior executives from the largest companies and the institutions in our country. The awarded projects and initiatives were distinguished by the competent jury through fair proceedings established by the organizers.
The Ceremony was attended by the Minister of Development & Competitiveness Mr. Costis Hadjidakis. The Minister stressed inter alia in his opening speech that Logistics are one of the key factors of development and the government has invested in upgrading the country’s role as a major transit center in Europe. The Executive Vice President of the Enterprises & Industries Federation (EIF), Mr. Haris Kyriazis greeted the ceremony as well.
