The study objective is the formulation and evaluation – prioritisation of interventions and measures which would support the operation of the Adriatic – Ionion Corridor as an upgraded state-of-the-art multimodal transport axis and a fully operational part of the Trans-European Transport Networks of S.E. Europe.
The study includes an analysis of the types and characteristics of the Corridor “supply” and “demand”, leading to proposals for its upgrade through the formulation and evaluation of alternative strategies for the development and management of the Corridor’s multimodal transport system.
Through these strategies, the necessary interventions and actions will be formulated, which will include (among other things):
• Introduction of contemporary methods for managing and operating transport modes and infrastructure,
• Introduction of reliable control systems,
• Modernisation of port infrastructure,
• Development of modern multimodal freight centres,
