Customer: Municipality of Trikaion

Duration: November 2004 – August 2005

The project consists of two actions:
1. Carrying out Studies for broadband services.
2. Monitoring and administration of the project.
1. Carrying Studies for broadband services
Α’ phase: Before the implementation of the project.
It contains one-month study, before the operation of the Information Centers for Broad-Band Services, the current situation into the town of Trikala end the nearby towns (mass of telecommunications and Internet connections and size of investments), and research of request for broad band services (and infrastructure which will support them) into the area.
Β’ phase: during the project
Record of the conclusions of the demonstration of broad band services which consists of questioners and statistical conclusions about each one of the demonstrations. The results will be announced to the participated authorities and will published to the site of the Municipality of Trikkaion, at the section of the board band services which will operates for this reason. Also the results will show the value of each demonstration and will help the conductor of the demonstrations about the containment of the next one.
C’ Phase: after the end of the operation of the Broad Band Information Centers
One (1) month after the end of the operation of the Broad Band Information Centers, will come out research for the conclusions of the project, concerning the diffusion of the Broad Band Services into the Municipality of Trikkaion and in particular: new Broad Band connections to the target authorities, intention for new Broad Band connections by the target authorities into the next six months, understanding of the effectiveness of the broad band Services by Public Authorities etc. For the definition of the results there will be questioners, which will be answered by the persons in charge attending the demonstrations and by communications with the Providers of Broad Band Services, operated into the Municipality of Trikkaion.
Prospective conclusion is better informing of the involved authorities and companies and increased interest both for the use of Broad Band Services and investment into infrastructure and better services (which will actuate the use by general public).
2. Monitoring and administration of the project
The Technical Consultant undertakes the Monitoring and the Administration of the Project. The Municipality of Trikkaion disposes administrative personnel for the implementation of the project, and work team, but doesn’t have the necessary expertise and methodology for the efficient management of the project: for this reason the technical consultant controls the proper operation of the supplied infrastructure into the context of the project, and provides the methodology for monitoring of the implementation of the project and also is responsible for the communication with the Information Community.
• For this reason the Technical Consultant of this sub-project will undertake on behalf of the Municipality of Trikkaion will monitor all the sub-projects of the project.
The profits of the above services are suggestively the following:
• The project management by experienced personnel will contribute at the development and installation of the informational systems, equipment and net.
• There will be expertise transfer from the Consultants Personnel to the work team of the Municipality of Trikkaion.
• The initiative studies and the management of the sub-projects will implement on the base of a coordinated project management through appropriate operational tools.

Role of TREDIT:
– Planning of the organization of the project
– Planning of the system for the management and control of the sub-contracts
– Control at the implementation of the sub-projects
– Administration and Management of the whole project, both for time schedule and cost and for the operation of the information infrastructure that will be procured by the Municipality of Trikkaion in the context of the project.
