The CloudYMS project was presented during the LOGI.C conference held in Thessaloniki on 10-11 May 2022. The conference under the general title Globally Connected Supply Chains focused on actions at local and regional level in order to transform Thessaloniki into an innovation hub, given the developmental boost both in THPA and in the adjacent regional ports.
The purpose of the research project is the development of the Cloud Yard Management service which is the solution to meet different cargo storage needs in different Ro-Ro / Ro-Pax ports as well as inland depot. In the case of Ro-Ro / Ro-Pax ports, there is a combined passenger traffic operation with unaccompanied cargo parking and the possibility of temporary parking of trucks that will then be loaded on the ship with a specific loading plan. The functions provided by the system include the configuration of the parking allocation process, real-time graphic representation of the port parking spaces, the possibility of communication with external bodies and pre-booking of parking space (booking).
The project is co‐financed by the European Union and Greek national funds through the Operational Program Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, under the call RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE (Τ2ΕΔΚ-01957).
