The project goal addresses the more efficient management of goods items along the logistics chain. The relevant task targets the transportation of paper rolls from the port up to the end customer. The end product provides an integrated solution, contributing to the improvement of the services of a company acting in the logistics chain.
The key applications implemented during this project are:
1. Unloading controlv Electronic monitoring of the unloaded, from the ship, units, which subsequently are transferred by lorries to the ware house. The units unloaded are identified using mobile barcode reader technologies whereas the information is forwarded to the company’s MIS via GSM network.
2 .Warehouse control
Automatic entry / exit control system and remote stock control from the company’s headquarters base system. v 3. E -commerce
Development of an e-commerce solution using EDI, for the interconnection of the company with its partners within the transport chain.
