Description

The project aim is the administrative and technical support of the Ministry which is conducted at the framework of cross-border Programme Greece – Cyprus (INTERREG) 2007 – 2013. The Ministry is the Lead Partner at the project DIAVLOS, while the remaining project partners are the Municipality of Rhodes and St. Nicolaos. Specifically, the project includes the following activities:
– Technical support to the Ministry during the execution of the pilot ITS project which will be implemented in Lefkosia.
– Review and analysis of existing conditions for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) in Lefkosia.
– Study of best ITS case projects at European and International level.
– Conducting of stakeholder interviews for recording needs related to ITS projects.
– Development of ITS project inventory in Lefkosia and other island areas in Greece and Cyprus.
– Evaluation of the ITS projects in Lefkosia via multi-criteria analysis, benefit – cost study and financial assessment.
– Design and preparation of technical specifications for ITS projects which are expected to be implemented in Lefkosia at short- and medium- term.
– Organization of visits at EU Member States in European Union for the demonstration of ITS projects.
– Publicity actions which include the development of daily conferences in Lefkosia and the development of relevant informative material.
– Development of web-site.
– “Before” and “after” evaluation of results for the pilot ITS project which will be implemented in Lefkosia.
