TREDIT participates in WareM&O project – Exploitation and upgrading of unused storage facilities with emphasis on large urban areas

The WareM&O project focuses on the development and operation of a Virtual Freight Center (VFC) in the Thessaloniki region with the aim of facilitating short-term leasing using innovative technologies; implementing collaborative storage capacity among businesses; exploiting unused storage facilities; supporting the development of innovative collaborative business models; creating a local ecosystem between industrial partners and logistics service providers with a multiplier effect on the number and quality of storage and general logistics services in the Thessaloniki region and finally enhancing the attractiveness of businesses in the local and global market.

The main idea of developing a VFC came from the need for connecting in real-time, logistics operators looking for storage space (demand) with existing storage facilities that are partially utilized by other companies (supply). Its implementation will be based on the development of an online platform designed to meet international standards of accessibility and usability through which users can navigate in a variety of services and tools.

The consortium includes CERTH/HIT and TREDIT S.A with Planning S.A. being the subcontractor.

The project is co‐financed by the European Union and Greek national funds through the Operational Program Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, under the call RESEARCH – CREATE – INNOVATE. (Τ1ΕΔΚ-04383)
