Project description
The project includes certain extensions and modifications on the existing Terminal Operating System in container terminal of ThPA. More specifically:
1. User identification and logging functionality for the operator of Container Handling equipment (straddle carrier) and Loading/Unloading supervisor. In both cases either an RFID card or a similar solution with Dallas Key will be deployed which will be red by the respective reader (either on on-board devices on straddle carriers or handheld devices for loading/unloading supervisors). In that way information regarding the unique identifier of the user, the device as well as the time of logging in the application will be stored in the system. Finally it will be possible to configure the time threshold a user is expected to remain logged into the system before automatically logging him out (based on the last order received by the straddle carrier or the last use of the application for loading/unloading reporting).
2. Controls for overweight containers will be included in the current application for loading/unloading monitoring and reporting. The application will also be integrated with overweight control system as is already implemented in ThPA for specific gantry cranes but will also allow the manual report on container’s weight (or report on overweight). The reported information can be used on a second stage to cross-check the existence of all required formalities (special permits, accompanying documents etc) in Administration Control module of TOS and thus enable optimal control of overweight containers handling.
3. Modifications on existing modules of TOS to extend their functionality in order to cover:
a. Empty containers stacking direction based on ground slots numbering
b. Handling of requests for veterinarian controls of containers
4. Update of interface to SAP in order to fully cover accounting department needs
