Training in autonomous living as a means for socioeconomic integration of psn through technical aids – ALTIUS

ALTIUS Pilot project has as main goal to provide an integrated training and support to People with Special Needs (PSN) with various mobility, sensory and light cognitive disabilities, in order to allow them to have the opportunity of an independent and autonomous living.
ALTIUS aims at identifying the special educational needs of each PSN group, developing relevant training courses, handbooks, tools and multimedia software for PSN and their trainers and finally educating PSN trainers in autonomous living by a transnational educational scheme. The project will be realised by a series of activities, including the classification of PSN learning needs in autonomous living, the development of a database of aids that support PSN in their domestic activities, the development of training courses for PSN autonomous living and relevant training support training (including self-training support software) and the evaluation of the above tools and methodologies in trainers and PSN training Pilots, which include A NOVICE Greek trainers education in a rehabilitation (France) and hospital environment (Italy) and then a Pilot training of PSN by them.

Role of TREDIT:
– Administrative co-ordination of the project
– Definition of Dissemination and exploitation strategy of the project results
– Development of a database with home control aids for PSN
