Customer: EU, DGXIII, ATT

Duration: January 1996 – December 1997

The MOVE-it project is a main project in the field of standardization and harmonization of the different systems for electronic toll collection. The main objective of the project is to pave the way towards trans-Europen interoperability for motorway tolling. The project focuses on the aspect of contractual interoperability and agreements between the toll operators to cooperate and accept an electronic means of payment without subjecting the drivers to stop and pay even when crossing the boarders between the countries of the European Union. The MOVE-it partners that participate in the European association of motorway operations will join efforts to achieve consensus on the ways to identify and overcome the legislative, institutional and commercial obstacles towards interoperability.
