This project is focused on Logistics practices application in close relation with the demand (Demand Driven Logistics), a practice in correspondence with those applied in industry (Just-In-Time) and in retail commerce (Quick Response and Efficient Consumer Response).
The smooth information flow and the information systems integration within the whole distribution chain are the main conditions for a company that aims operating in such environment.
Based on this fundamental principle, the specific application aims creating an integrated information Logistics system, which provides the following services functions:
• Stock monitoring and activation of replenishment ordering on behalf of the customer, using Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) technology.
• Internet server for the electronic collaboration of the parties involved in the distribution chain.
• Real time monitoring of deliveries and returns, with the use of mobile terminals and GSM technology.
